One question I have is specific to designing and selling jewelry -- both on and offline it seems to be the area with the most sellers and the most competition. How can you promote your business in a way that lets you stand out from the pack and get noticed?

I guess my question would be this... I am making and selling a regional product, namely, Irish-themed artwork, so it's aimed at a 'specific' market and I would love to know how to better connect with my target market....mostly, the Irish diaspora in the USA?

Besides the social medias, I am looking for an effective way to promote my products as well as others within the Etsy community? I am not quite sure if there are more "collectors" than buyers which could also be good (much like Pinterest) as they somewhat give vendors exposures. After many years of selling at shows, on my website and through my own brick and mortar shop, Silk Oak has developed a devoted following around the world. A few years back, I gave up my website's shopping cart and just pointed my domain url to my Etsy shop. Since then, the pace of Etsy sales has been increasing and is now over 2200.
But, despite all that, I feel like I am idling. I know I need to make a leap to the next level and I think it will be fueled by promotion or being featured online but, that's such a broad category.

What's the most strategic use of my time and energy, at this point in my business?

I would like to know why views are so fickle. Last summer I was averaging 700-800 views per day. Then in late August, my views started to decrease and still have not picked up to that level. I am getting around 450 to 500 on a good day. What went wrong? How do you build views?

You mentioned creating an opt-in page to get new customer e-mails, and create an e-mail newsletter. What is Etsy's suggestions for creating an opt-in page? Does Etsy have a way for shop owners to specifically use customer e-mails and newsletters via Etsy?
