Listing Title Advice

Before I post any new listings in my shop, I am going through every inch of information to make sure I am giving myself the best shot at getting found. I am using the SEO guidelines that I found in the Etsy help section and I have printed the PDF done by SEOmoz provided in that article. I have done my shop title and announcement and am now doing all 100 of my listings.

My first question for the group is:

For a listing title, have you found that you get more views by using a simple title and allowing on Etsy to be at the end (ex. Minimalist Jewelry, Wood Earrings by NestsAndBurrows on Etsy) or do you think it is better to go with a more descriptive title (ex. Wood Earrings, Wood Jewelry, Painted Tree Rings, Painted Wood Slice, Minimalist Jewelry, Simple Jewelry, Natural Jewelry, Nature Inspired)?

Thank you for any advice!

Re: Listing Title Advice

the SEOmoz pdf is good for reference but why not simply use a title that simply states what it is that you are selling?

Which describes what you are selling the best and would be the way you would ask for it if you were asking a clerk in the shop:

Wood Earrings, Wood Jewelry, Painted Tree Rings, Painted Wood Slice, Minimalist Jewelry, Simple Jewelry, Natural Jewelry, Nature Inspired

or

Minimalist Jewelry, Wood Earrings by NestsAndBurrows on Etsy

Or simply
wooden earrings crafted from a tree branch

One thing that I would suggest though is that you include the measurements and the weights of your earrings in your descriptions.

You may also want to rethink your main photograph as well because when I glanced through your shop I didn't see any earrings initially but rather some nice statues.

Re: Listing Title Advice

That is a good thought on the title. When I first started my shop, I thought I should pack as many search terms into the title as possible (that apply to my item of course) so that I would have the best chance of being found. After reading the SEO info, I was rethinking that.

Thanks for the thoughts on the pics too. I took the pics like that thinking the statues would attract interest but if they are taking away from the listed item, that's not good.

I really appreciate the feedback!
