Link to FB page in message to buyer

Hi,

Like a lot of shop owners I have a FB page and of course I would like to have a lot of followers and true interaction with them. But I only want likes of people who will actually like my page not because I need to like theirs in return or because I am giving something for free.

I was now wondering if I should put a link in of my FB page in the message that I mail to buyers to let them now their package has been shipped.

Something like:

If you like the item and want to follow Hippo’s Dream then go: and then the FB page name

What do you think if you would receive this?
Should I do this or not?

You can link your FB page so it's visible at the top of your shop.

Re: Link to FB page in message to buyer

I think this is a great idea! Does anyone know if it is against Etsy rules? I just started my business FB pg and getting it going is no easy task. My other thought was to include the FB address on my business card that I include with the order. I really don't like give always ....I would rather have followers that are truly interested.

Re: Link to FB page in message to buyer

I do it. If they have bought from you, they'll be happy to see ways to keep in touch that they may have missed. As a buyer, if there's company/product/event that I'm interested in and it has a FB page, I follow it to keep in touch and keep up with news and promotions. As a seller, I think the "thank you for your purchase" is a good place to do that. You know they're excited enough about you to make the purchase, and they're more likely to want to keep in touch, giving you a way gain those "true" FB fans.

Re: Link to FB page in message to buyer

I think its a great idea. I like it because if I bought something I really liked, I would love to follow them on facebook and may not otherwise think to find them (I rarely 'like' from the top of the shop page- I don't like that I would still have to go search for them on facebook to see their page).

I do the same for my newsletter, it gets me the occasional follower and I think its great because I'm not forcing people to get the newsletter, only people who are really interested click the link! As long as you're not pushy about it, people who are interested will respond!

Re: Link to FB page in message to buyer

Great idea. I used to add the links to twitter, blog, and facebook in the convos with customers. I just phased that out because it became quite a task having to do that a lot. So putting that i the message to buyer at the end of a transaction is a great idea.

Also having it at the top of your page is a great idea too. I am going to try these out.

Thanks so much!
