Less views on week-ends?

Hi all,

Given my number of views on Friday I was expecting a big Saturday, but I was surprised to see that I got twice as less views.
Have you noticed the same thing?
Is it because on weekends we are busier with our families?

Re: Less views on week-ends?

I always have less views on the weekend, but it only takes one view to have a sale. So I don't stress on the number of views, just the number of sales. I would think that views would be higher on weekends since people are not working, but it looks like people use their job computers for things that are not job related. It happens every weekend, so don't worry about it.

Re: Less views on week-ends?

Yes I just noticed that myself. My views are less than half what they were during the week. However I spend more time promoting during the week.

Re: Less views on week-ends?

In general I agree, though my views have lately been pretty steady. Typically I'm at about 200, today about 150...not drastic differences, but less views through search.

Yesterday was a great views day for me too. But I sold an item on Monday, when views were strangely low at about 80. Just depends on who's looking!

Re: Less views on week-ends?

I am not sure about views - like Harriet has said it only takes one view for a sale and although I have not had many sales in my shop they were ALL from buyers who had not favourited any items from my shop and just decided to purchase there and then.

A couple of weeks ago (on a Saturday) I had a huge day of views and favourites - almost 1,000 views and several hundred favourites and not a sale, so do not despair, what will be will be, although I know it is reassuring to get lots of views and know that shoppers are finding your shop. I don't think there is any scirenc to it and I never did find out why my stats were os fantastic on that one day.

Good luck. Coralie.

Re: Less views on week-ends?

Kind of like I'm doing right now, I think a lot of people surf the internet at their desks at work. I think Etsy gets a lot more business on weekdays because of that. Also, like you said, on the weekends, people are busy with family stuff so views are lower. Mine have dipped to 30 today, whereas they're usually between 75-100 during the week. but I did get a sale last night despite it being very slow for me, so views aren't everything.

Re: Less views on week-ends?

I find I get more views when I am more active. That being said, it depends on a lot of factors.

Re: Less views on week-ends?

I have been here for one year and have always had less views on the weekends.
Less views doesn't mean less sales though......

Re: Less views on week-ends?

VaLon, I totally agree with you. The more active I am within the Etsy community, the more views I get. And, consequently, I've learned the more sales I get as well. Which I am still trying to figure out because my sales aren't from Etsy sellers, which I gather are the more common than buyers in the forums I post to and teams I am involved with. I wonder if community activity contributes to where your items display in search? I honestly am just guessing, but it's something I've been thinking about lately.

Re: Less views on week-ends?

It seems people connect to Etsy from work, or from their home when the kids are at school.
Makes sense

Re: Less views on week-ends?

Interesting point Valon.
It's the same for me. And as Maria did, I checked if my customers were also Etsy sellers, which would make sense if they're reading the forums, but none of them are. So it's hard to understand exactly how community activity translates into sales.
Or, users have 2 IDs, one they use with their shop, and another for shopping... I don't know.

Re: Less views on week-ends?

I usually notice less activity and visits on fridays, saturdays and sundays,
I guess most people prefer going outside and having fun than making online shopping :)

Re: Less views on week-ends?

Hi, I'm based in London, UK, and I'm not getting enough views! Can anyone give me some advice? I have a children's product....maybe Etsy is not really the right platform for my items...? Women's jewelry and accessories, photography and homewares seem to do well, I notice. Do I need to review my tags, or create more treasuries, or widen my circle?

Many thanks in advance for your help!
