LG Optimus and Square up

Hi! Does anyone currently have this phone and use it with the Square up device to make transactions at craft/art fairs? Contemplating buying it but want to make sure it isn't fickle.

I was at the Bead Show and most of the shops had the Square card reader. It seems to work quite well. I'm not sure what kind of phones they had but I would think any 4G would work.

I spoke with a vendor at a recent bead show who used Square. He has had it for about a year and LOVES it. Based on what I've read, the unit itself has no cost and I think you pay for its usage, a percentage of the sale. Not sure if the app costs anything or not.

I don't have one however I just had my cooler repaired and my repairman had it. From a customer's perspective I love it! It was fast! He said its the best thing because now he only has to carry his phone.

I don't know how it works with the LG, but it works well on the iphone though.

It's fantastic it's free you get the cash the next day
It's the best thing since sliced bread
No monthly fee or per swipe fee
Only a fee when u use it and they take the percentage right off the bat
So you don't have to worry about paying the bill
I highly recommend everyone to get one
It only works with the IPhone and android phones at the moment

Credit card machine that you don't have to charge that you don't have to buy
You don need paper or pen they sign on the screen

I have the LG Optimus and a square to take credit cards. I tried to use it a couple of weeks ago (for an in person transaction) and since there was not any internet access in the area where I was It didn't work. The person had to go to a nearby ATM and withdraw cash to pay me. I think I'll wait to get a 4G to use it.

Not really what you are asking for, but if you are able to go you the app store and check out the reviews most people will state which phones they have and how well it works with it...

I've seen it used in quite a few different places. But be warned - if your phone doesn't get a cell signal/service (say inside an auditorium, or gym where a craft fair might be) then you won't be able to use it. (although if they have wi-fi, it might work... I haven't researched that).
