Keyword phrases?

All of a sudden I am noticing the words "keyword phrases" now and then in the forums (were they being talked about before and I just tuned it out?) so I googled and found out it is better to use keyword phrases than just keywords whenever possible. So let me get this straight, sorry if I'm being slow but keyword phrases are NOT tag stuffing right? And if it is indeed better to use them does anyone have any suggestions for keyword phrases I could use for my tags? I sell oil paintings and aceo...

I'm starting to think that this was a stupid question... should keyword phrases have been in my vocab from the start?

Hi Davs,

With the new relevancy search, it is a good idea to use some keyword phrases. For your work, I think phrases like "geometric print" or "abstract print" might be good. I still use other single word tags, but put in 4 or 5 keyword phrases that I think someone might use to search for items like those I make. Hope that helps!

Thanks tjalaine:) Since I only have two prints in my shop and mostly originals could "Original oil painting" or "oil painting" be considered an appropriate keyword phrase?

Here's the link to Google's AdWords Keywords Tool, if you type in the general words it will show you how people search and the corresponding numbers of searches and the level of competition with the keyword phrase. For example: 1,500,000 people search in the last month using the word "postcard" where as 60,500 people searched using the words "print postcards". Good luck!

I think TangledMetal's posts are excellent and help clarify the use of keyword phrases, etc. And yes, for your oil paintings, I think terms like original painting or oil painting would be great! Good luck!
