Item on first page of search?!

One of my items is on the first page when you search 'wedding invitation' or 'wedding invitations', which I am thrilled about! I am getting a lot of views and favorites. There are 80,000+ listings under this search.

Does anyone know why or how this is happening? I would like to know how I can get my other invitations toward to first pages.

Just within the last 2 weeks I re-photographed all my photos, changed my keywords and worked on my titles a bit. The only thing that I can think of is my first keyword is 'wedding invitation.'

Well, Dammit!!! I'd hit 'copy' and list the rest of them the EXACT same way!!! hahaha!!! That makes sense to me!!!

Crazy, and good. I saw it, the nautical one, right? The title, description, and tags have the two words "wedding" and "invitation" in them so many times. That's the only thing I see.

Thank you! Yes it's the Nautical one! It's always been a popular one. I just would like my others to get up in the searches!

I am pretty sure all my other invitation keywords all have 'wedding' and 'invitation' so hopefully it's just a matter of time before the rest of them pop up!

Someone told me once that the first page of a search only has one design from each store there, so you won't be able to get more designs on the first page if you already have one there. I have seen some searches that have more than one, but that's usually when there isn't much choice. Do any of your items show up on page 2 or 3? If they do, then I think you have done all that you can!!

They are not on the 2 or 3 page. And that's what I want! I figured I couldn't have another on the first and I am ok with that... I just want them on the following pages as well!

I just checked and I have one listing on the first page, two on the second, and two on the third for "polymer clay charms." I'm so excited! About an hour ago I added tags that included the words in the title. For example, I put polymer clay, polymer clay charms, polymer clay charm, polymer charms,ect. That could help get you on the following pages.

No! Don't do that! The search engines will see that as a duplicate and they don't like that.

SEO and relevancy works best when you have the same keyword phrases in tags, titles and descriptions. But don't duplicate them from listing to listing. You have to change things up.

Honestly it's hard to say!! I spent 10 minutes comparing two of your listings and they are very similar, with similar tags, the only thing I can think of is your hyphens. You have them on some of your listings and they are touching some of the words. That may be messing with the search, I would suggest taking them out completely. They aren't really necessary, your titles would be fine without them. If you notice almost all your item that don't have them have high views and the ones that have the hyphen don't. I would also not capitalize the entire word 'SAMPLE' I have heard full caps words messes with things. Not sure if that's it, but worth a try!!

Thank you. One last question and it's probably pretty ridiculous. How do you see the keywords other people are using? Obviously, you were able to see mine. How to I see someone else's?

You should be very happy! It is very hard to figure out which words to use for tags and titles. That is a huge section to get on the first page. Way to go !

Denae, scroll down to the bottom of the listing and click on "show item details" that should show you the tags.

It is helpful to peek at keywords others are using and try changing up some of your listings that aren't doing well anyway. You may want to consider making some of the titles longer too and put keywords in there. Obviously I wouldn't change any that are doing really well!!

Such a good feeling, isn't it? It's nice to know somethings working.

I've had a handful of items end up on the first page of a search I did, and it's always been a mystery to me. I know there's a lot of take about relevancy, but I feel like it has to be more than that. I have items that I set up in very similar ways, without using replications of titles or tags, and only a handful of items show up, over and over. Does anyone have any insight into this?

I feel like it has to in some way be related to sales and/or views.
