It's official, I HATE wrapping stuff!!! :(

It never looks as neat or as good as I want it too.

Any tips or places to go online for tips?

Could you just use nice, wide ribbon and no paper or tissue around an item that sells? You could then place said item in an appropriate size Ziploc bag (check out your nearest 99 cent or dollar store, or try Uline online, to save $) so it keeps it's shape, and then place it in the envelope or box you will mail it in?

Is it really necessary for you to wrap your items? Even if I buy a gift from online, I always unwrap it to see that it is really what I ordered. It would also save some money, if you wouldn't gift wrap all your items, just the ones that your customer would ask you to wrap.

Re: It's official, I HATE wrapping stuff!!! :(

Hahaha Aya I'll do the knitting if you do the wrapping! Lol!

I loved wrapping presents when I was little but now I dread it =\

Dorothy that's a great idea - a box! I wrap in Kraft paper than tie a ribbon before putting in A plastic postage bag. its the sticky tape and un even folding that upsets me because I want it to look lovely for the customer rather. than a mashed up badly taped mess! I'm probably being to hard on myself bit I'm still really new to all this and finding my way.
one snag with boxes for me is that my stuff is all different sizes and storage would be a problem.

Ho hum, thanks for your help ladies x

Excuse the punctuation I'm on my phone and it's being difficult

What if you just sort of lined the inside of the box with tissue paper, and loosely fold it over your items? It is hard to wrap bulky knitted stuff. I get where you are coming from.

Let loose. Whatever it comes out, or however... it's the way its' supposed to be. Crooked and all. That's art there. If only you let go of your ideal of how it should be, then you'll let it be as it finally shown to be. Do that and you'll feel happy with any results. Yes, stop being too hard or perfect on yourself. Be free and appreciate the imperfections. Coming from the perfectionist herself, recovering from the compulsion to be perfect lol.

All the very best.

Loosely wrapped with some tissue paper would probably look fine. I have little stickers that say "Thanks For Your Purchase" that I use to hold the paper closed.

And I hate the wrapping/packaging too! Christmas wrapping has always been a trial for me :)

Thank God for gift bags, eh...I'm not much of a wrapper either. I just got my first sale and I'm just gonna use tissue and tape, or a address label that already has my info on it. Do you think an idea like that would work. I'm probably being repetative

I don't wrap anything unless I specifically know it is going as a gift.
A clean plastic bag works fine. I despise getting packages with extra waste in them.

I use either small white jewelry or gift boxes or white tissue and wrap a single band of pretty ribbon around it & tuck in my business card. It looks nice but it's pretty no-fuss.

Re: It's official, I HATE wrapping stuff!!! :(

I sell tshirts, and it took me the longest time to figure out how to wrap them nicely. I think I have finally figured it out.

I roll them tightly so they aren't all loose, and they fit better in the mailer. This shows off my applique work, too. After rolling, I tie them with a pretty ribbon, and add a card with just my shop name. I then wrap in tissue paper, tie with twine and add a shop sticker with my logo. In the mailer, I include a small glassine bag filled with a thank you card and my business card.

Since you also sell loose, bulky things, folding and rolling might work for you.

How about plastic bags (which will also protect your items and then have some great stickers made to attach to the outside of the baggie. That could also help brand you.

Re: It's official, I HATE wrapping stuff!!! :(

I like the plastic bag idea!!! With stickers even better! No awkward paper, no unruly sticky tape...bingo!

I've got tissue paper but have never remembered to use it lol =/

I'm going to look into getting stickers made and I'm going to get (steal off daughter) some gold star stickers to use too

*Happy face* Thanks everybody!

I can't wrap either.

I just tie a ribbon on my Kraft box, and I'm not very good at ribbon tying either. . . :(

I love wrapping! I use tissue paper and pretty ribbons or yarn. Why not a simple shirt box (or smaller) in white or kraft and tie with some yarn or a colorful strip of washi tape?
