Is this picture bad?

Hey, It was sunny yesterday so I took a ton of new pictures - hanging my necklaces on a pale vest to show what it would look like tried on, but I am not sure if they look very professional... it was the only white-ish top I had (Goth at heart) and I like the outcome, as it shows off the necklaces more than just close ups, but to you do they look tacky?

This isn't the only one I have done this with - most of my necklaces have the top in the listing, but I am unsure still! Its England so I am not sure when I will next have a sunny day to take pictures... haha :)

I love the concept. Helps the buyer to visualize wearing your product. Not sure about the background. Might look awesome with some greenery behind. Like an outdoor scene?

I dont think the shirt is as much a problem as the background. Can you find a plain backdrop, such as a solid wall? And crop so we don't see the hanger? Then your beautiful dragonfly will be the focal point.

Mmmm well, maybe the background could be less distracting, since you can see in through the window and that's the first thing I noticed.

I agree with the others - the concept is good, but the background doesn't work very well. I think that doing it against a solid wall would look very nice.

I also agree with everyone else. A better background would be way better, plus cropping out the hanger. :)

I agree with previous the previous posters about using a less busy background. If you need to keep the hanger in the shot to show the upper part of the necklace, you might consider using one more suited to showing well in a photograph like a wooden hanger. If you don't have anything that would work you can always see if your friends have anything they'd be willing to lend you.

I don't mind the hanger, I've seen shops do that. But you need a better background and a bit more light. Also, this would be neat as a secondary picture, your first picture should just show the necklace on a neutral background. If I'm scrolling through a page and see this as the primary pic, I'm likely to think it's just a shirt that was misplaced in the categories.

I have to say I agree with all of the others. I understand what you mean about the weather, its been the same down here in Hampshire. Yesterday afternoon I was out with the camera as soon as the sun came out - went in - came out again:) I have looked at your listing for this item and the other photos are much better. I would firstly suggest that you use a close up as your first photo, then retake the one with the vest but try to do it against one colour background, no window, no drainpipe growing out of the back and crop out the hanger. Who knows it might be sunny tomorrow!

I agree about the background .. too distracting and busy. Could you just hang it on the wall and have that be the backdrop?
