Is there a way to save treasuries as a draft?

I'm pretty experienced now at making treasuries, and love to do them, but the one thing I've never figured out is how to save them as a draft while working on them. Sometimes I'm interrupted, sometimes I have an idea and want to develop it further without losing my inspiration, but the minute I click "save," the treasury goes live on the feed, done or not.

I'm now mentoring some Etsy newcomers on making treasuries, and one of them just asked me this question. I don't have the answer. Does anyone know how to do this (and is willing to tell)?

Hello! I use an online tool (I think you have to download the bookmark to use it if I remember) from Schmetsy: http://shmetsy.com/treasury.html They also have a conversation sending widget which I find even more helpful!

That's a great idea Emily. The only other way that I have known is to save it as private until it is done. Then I think you can make it public. But the thing I don't like about this is that I don't think it would show up in the desired time as a new treasury.

As long as you have at least 4 items in your treasury, you can save it as private & go back to it. When you're done, just mark it as public & save.

Shmetsy works really well for saving as you make it but I wasn't sure about the combo tool as I keep reading people don't like receiving treasury convos. I like hearing I'm in a treasury though.

Re: Is there a way to save treasuries as a draft?

I learned the hard way that if you save it as private so you can finish it, then save it as public it considers the date & time you originally saved it (as private) as the time it was made. Did that make sense? I once took a couple of days to make a treasury that I was very proud of but when I made it public, it was so far back in the list that no one saw it. :(

I use Shmetsy.com now. You can save it as a draft and take as long as you need to work your magic. Once you hit the save button at the bottom of the page it goes public as a brand new treasury.

Re: Is there a way to save treasuries as a draft?

If you save it as private on Etsy, it will post as the first day and time you save it, not when it goes public. A lot of times I'll use the private setting as a "poster sketch" and then transfer all the listings over to a new Treasury list when I'm ready to go public.

I probably need to use Shmetsy - I just haven't downloaded it yet. LOL

I hesitated about using Shmetsy for a little while. After I finally downloaded it and started using it I thought "why did I wait so long?" It's so easy to use and makes treasury making so much quicker. I think the convo sender is the best feature.

I'm very surprise that people don't like receiving treasury convos.....I don't have time to be in front of computer 24/7....I miss some treasury with my item if I'm not notified about it
