Is many views effect etsy search??

Hello,

I wander if many views in a shop will effect the search? Meaning, a shop will be found easier by potential clients if the shop have mNy views vs.no views or few views?
How this is working? Anyone??

I believe it does. I have heard that more views and hearts helps search ranking.
Try it out, search for something popular like "heart necklace"- I would bet that the first page has lots if listings with thousands of views.

Most of the listings displayed in the Relevancy search results as well as in Browse, are
-- listings from very high selling shops
-- listings with many repeat RECENT sales
-- listings with many hearts/faves
-- listings that are included in many treasuries

. . . in other words, CURRENTLY popular listings.

Listings that are sold and renewed repeatedly will appear in more and more Relevancy searches as well as Browse pages.

What about all the stupid SEO talks??? Isn't that supposed to help you and not views and rankings??? Sorry, but I hate all the changes they supposedly do to help us out and we end up where we started. VENT over...

If you do it correctly you got views imiddiatly there is no way around SEO. And goos SEO bare fruits. If not taking the time to learn and understand how SEO works then yes, it is fair that a shop do not get views. I spent months reading and learning how SEO works and still learning. It taks a lot of my time, learn, read everything you cN put your hands on regarding SEO and talm to people who can help you understand how it works. This call paying your dues.

Patty, it's Search Engine Optimisation.

Very important and helps you to get found in searches in Etsy and outside Etsy. There is loads of info about it on the internet and Etsy articles.

I did a random search for "rope bracelet" & the first page brought up items that had more than 500 views as well as items that only had 32 views. Therefore I don't think it's a matter of how many views your item has had. It's more about tags. It's important to maximize those tags so the search engine can find you!
