Is it ok to sell more than one type of item...

Hi, I recently opened up my Etsy shop and am super excited to get going.

I started by listing my embroidered wall hangings which I would normally put into the category of 'home decor', however I have also started listing embroidered cards.

Although both items have a running theme through them I'm not too sure if selling two 'categories' would put people off or make my shop look inconsistent?

Any opinions would be great

They're both the same technique, so it should be fine. I think it only starts to look cluttered or disorganized when shops have 4 or 5 completely different types items--vintage shoes, baked goods, dog collars, soap, earrings. Then it starts to look like a garage sale. : )

I think they look good together! Also as an aside, if you have US buyers buying your cards you might consider putting a line that square cards require additional postage in the US.

You are doing just fine. With as few products as you have categories are not as important for anything other than SEO. It is a good idea to start your SEO from the beginning rather than later so, your two categories are just fine.because categories are searchable and have the name in the title it is a good idea to maximize the SEO potential. I would change Greeting Cards to Embroidered Greeting Cards (if it fits and if not maybe Embroidered Cards) so you gain an extra search word.

I think they would sell well together in your shop because they are both embroidered. No need to make two shops, and having more than one shop can be kind of a pain. Very hard sometimes when one gets more interesting than the other!
