I am new to the team and Etsy, so thought I would introduce myself before starting to post in other threads.
Although I opened my Etsy shop about a year ago I didn't really do anything with it until the last few weeks. That pesky "real job" thing got in the way!
I've been involved in online retail for about 15 years, launching my own retail website way back in late 1999 when online retail was really in its infancy. It was a fun and exciting time. Fifteen years later the world of online retail is still an ever-changing and challenging landscape to me, but I also still find it very fulfilling.
With the sudden loss of that "real job" a couple of months ago I decided to dedicate some time and energy to setting up my shop. I still have a long ways to go on a shoestring budget, but I know what's possible with hard work and follow through so here I am!
As a transplant to the UK from California I find some of my biggest challenges are understanding the UK/European market and adjusting accordingly.
