International shipping help

I am a new seller and for now I am only shipping within the US. I'd like to ship worldwide but I'm not sure about how to do this...any help? Thanks!

Re: International shipping help

When you are listing an item, where you put in your shipping prices, you have the option to add countries. You can add all countries by choosing "everywhere else" or you can pick and choose which countries you would like to ship to, and add them individually.

Re: International shipping help

Maybe I should reword my question. I know how to add international shipping to a listing. I guess I don't know what i'm trying to ask here. Just how do you figure out price and all that

Re: International shipping help

You can go onto the USPS website and look it up there, or talk to your PO worker. They'll help you figure prices. It all depends on weight, and size.

Re: International shipping help

The PO should be able to help with that too. For me, all that I have had to do is fill out a custom's declaration form that basically just says what you are sending and how much it is worth. It is called a CN-22. It is really easy.

Re: International shipping help

You'll have to fill out customs forms.
They are a snap.
You just put the recipients address, your address, mark a box titled "merchandise" and explain the contents of the package, and what the dollar amount of the purchase is. Super quick, and easy.
If a buyer asks you to mark the customs form as a "gift," don't do it. It's a federal offense. Sometimes they want people to do that to avoid customs fees.

Re: International shipping help

You can calculate the international shipping prices by going to www.usps.com just as you did with your shipping prices for within the USA.

I usually use the rates for Australia and Germany to get an accurate rate for 'everywhere else' as they are the most expensive ones for me. Yours may differ.

When it comes to customs forms you can use PS2976 for USPS 1st class international packages. For 1st class international the weight limit is up to 4 lbs.

I check the box marked 'other' and then fill in the details of the package including purchase price and total weight. Keep it simple.

For USPS Priority international I print my shipping labels and customs forms via Paypal. Again the form is very simple.

Re: International shipping help

Keep in mind that all countries have restriction as to what you can ship into the country. Some are even a bit absurd, but they are the law. I've found this website to be very helpful

Re: International shipping help

Thank you so much everyone! I think I finally have it figured all out! My items are very light so it won't cost that much to ship them. Should I get the Certificate of Mailing when I ship?

Re: International shipping help

What does the certificate of mailing give you? I've never personally used it.

Re: International shipping help

This is exactly my question. It seems like it would be possible to just have a table of prices. Too bad the USPS doesn't just have that. Seems silly to have to go through each weight and/or country.

Re: International shipping help

This is what USPS says...
Certificate of Mailing
Have evidence that you sent the item when you say you did. This official record shows the date your mail was accepted. Certificates of mailing furnish evidence of mailing only.
