Images too Large - Why?

Why does Etsy say some of my images are too large? I am not doing anything different with some than with others...

Check the image properties to see what size it is. I make mine no larger than 1000 pixels on each side

How do you do that? Most of my photos pull up just fine, it just happens now and then...

Etsy recommends using an image that is a maximum of 800-1000 pixels wide.

Hi Melissa,
Do you use photo editing software?
If so, look for a menu item called image size.
Your image shouldn't be any larger than 1000 pixels by 1000 pixels at 72 dpi or ppi (pixels per inch). the images end up being about 80 to 200 kb in size.
