I want to make shipping free for additional items

What setting to I need to set up to make additional items in an order free shipping. If someone buys two prints, I plan on shipping them together and would like the extra items in an order to be free shipping. There is the "if shipped with another item", would I just make that lower for my shipping profile and hopefully it adds up to the cost of shipping? Or is there something that I can set so that shipping is only paid on one item?

When you do your shipping, you have Ships and Ships with Another item

Set your Ships with Another Item as $0.00. The higher shipping will get charged, from my experience with purchases on Etsy.

If I bought something for x that had $5.00 shipping or $0.00 with another item and added y to my order with $3.00 shipping or $0.00 with another item my cost would be:
x + y + $5.00 (2nd item receives free shipping).
It's automatically done if you set it up in your shipping profile.
Does that make sense?

That's right, for a multiple purchase Etsy charges the highest shipping charge as the main shipping charge and the "with another item" charge for all the other items.

That makes perfect sense. Thank you. I wasn't sure if one of the items would be charged for shipping, or if each item in the purchase would be charged the "with another item" shipping price.

I had the same question when I had my first multiple item sale, except I thought only the With another item charge would apply so I miscaculated my shipping charges. Nice people around here helped me correct that :)
