I think its time

I think its time to upgrade my compact camera to something a bit more snazzy and more able to take better shots. The whole world of cameras the whole digital slr thing gets me really dizzy.

what do you use and how do you find it? do you use it outside of work too? if so how do you find it?
do you have any advice on what to look for and what to avoid?

Re: I think its time

I use a Canon PowerShot - it's got enough bells and whistles to play with without completely overwhelming me. Mine's an SX 120IS - I can't remember what the current generation is. Good camera - I use it for things other than my shop, because I've got kids and grandparents in other states. :D

Try a "bridge" camera they're a cross between an SLR and a regular run of mill digital one. There are some really good ones, at affordable prices now, and they are easier to use than an SLR. :o)

Re: I think its time

I use a Canon PowerShot as well. It wasn't costly and it's pretty easy to use.

Yes, try a bridge camera!
I'm using Canon Powershot SX500 IS and I think it's only about $200 now.
And although I know how to use manual settings, I only take photos in auto setting for my shop. It works great.

But I always edit them in Photoshop. Just to make the whites whiter and other colors more vibrant.

Good luck!
