I am not on twitter, but I think if you put the @ sign before a twitter name, your post goes to those peoples twitter account, so I guess they are sending there post to etsy's feeds.
Please, anyone, if I am wrong please correct me, because as I said, I am not on twitter, so I could be totally wrong :)

Its a direct thing..... they twittered it From etsy...
Rather then copy paste it into the feed on twitter.

bitznbuttons is right, the @ is for when you want specific accounts to see your posts (your twitter account is @___ so if you were to post and say @Etsy look at my awesome item then etsy will see it and anyone who looks up etsy on twitter will see it)
