I sold this item and the buyer is using pay pal but is pending and on the receit its says to wait until paymend is cklear .

the buyer brought it on august 19 2011 does it take this long to clear

How did they pay? By e-check? It may take that long for the check to clear.

Yes, it can take this long. I had one take 10 days. PayPal will let you know when the payment has gone through.

e-checks are fine.
10 days seems long, I haven't had to wait more than seven days, with the weekend.

Are you asking how you get money from your pay pal account to you checking account?
Do a funds transfer, and it takes a couple of days for that to process

As far as the pending, totally legit, probably paid with e check... Do not ship your item until the pending payment has cleared...10

Transferring funds to a bank account can take a few business days. If you're planning to use Paypal frequently, you might want to apply for a Paypal debit card.

If the funds are no longer pending, they are safely in your paypal acct, so you are safe to ship.

To get the funds into your BANK acct, you have to log into paypal and do a funds transfer. Look for a tab that says "transfer funds" i think. (I haven't had enough sales to have this memorized yet :)

if you transfered the funds from paypal to your account it will take a few days

If the buyer paid via paypal with an echeck than the transaction could take multiple days for it to clear.

This happened to me yesterday. I fully understand that I should wait for payment to clear before shipping...but in my list of SOLD items the sale does not show. However there is a receipt for the sale showing when I click on the item.
This is an international sale.

I've sold something on eBay before and the buyer used e-check and told me he was in a hurry of needing the item. I shipped it out without waiting for a cleared payment. Few days later, the e-check got declined... I never got my money back.
