I need some advice on custom order

I've been selling a lot of custom tags for baby showers, weddings, etc lately. I've gotten a couple of orders where people leave off the name to be printed on the tag or they modify my wording. When they forget a piece of information or modify my tags, I send a Digital proof for them to review. However lately I find that I don't always get a response. I send a follow up email but what would you do if you don't get a response? My shipping window is 3-5 days. Do I just ship it on day 5?

Any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated!

I would just ship on day five. If they aren't responding then they aren't too worried about a proof.

Ship on Day 5, and maybe consider adding a line to your shop policies (or wherever you inform customers about custom projects) that no response within --- x--- amount of time will count as approval?

Re: I need some advice on custom order

If its a custom order and I don't get a response from the customer before my 'shipping window' expires, I still will wait for a response from the customer.

The Shipping window is there to provide the customer with a guideline as to when the item will ship once ALL requested information has been provided.

I'd much rather wait and get a response from the customer than try to second guess and end up having to do it again because the customer is unhappy.

Thank you crochetgal! My only thought there is most people need the tags in time for an event so if I don't ship within the window, I also risk them not getting their tags in time for their party.

Re: I need some advice on custom order

Hmm, I would do what CrochetGal does but if you are also in a time crunch and they haven't responded, I would just add wording in your policies that you will print the names as given and that it's up to the customer to proof their names before it ships. Or something like that.

When I did "from santa" tags in my old shop, I didn't proof them before they shipped out, I just would ship them based on the names given. If the customer doesn't get back to you, just assume that they gave you the names correct and word your policies to protect yourself.
