I just got 100 views from direct traffic?

Any ideas what that is? I'm guessing maybe an email, but how can I find out? If you're in etsy finds is that what you see? I hadn't signed up, so I don't know...

Try looking at google anyalics, it might be able to shed some light on it.

Google analytics had even less information then my stats here. I've had direct traffic in the 20 or so range before but never this high and it all came in the space of an hour and to my main shop page not a specific listing. It's odd!

hmmm, I always thought direct traffic means someone went directly to your shop,, like (made up shop)blahblah.etsy.com

Did it happen today? I just got 147 views from "Your Listings" today between 11:00 - 11:59 am EST. So, according to my shop stats, someone came into my shop and clicked around at 147 different items?! I mean, of course I think my stuff is pretty great, but I somehow don't see someone clicking on every single item of mine...

Let me know if you ever figure out how yours happened!

ANSWER: So, I just went to my direct traffic stats, hovered on the direct traffic question mark ? - it tells you "from URL browser, bookmarked your page, clicked a link in an email, instant message or twitter".

So whatever all that means, that's where it came from.

Amy - it could be 14 people all looked at 10 of your listings - it doesn't necessarily have to be all the same person. But then, I have had one person favorite everything in my shop before. You see 100+ favs and wonder what happened!

Patricia - I did a look at the social media search tool, and I couldn't find any mentions so I'm guessing it wasn't twitter. So my guess is still email, but that seems so odd.

To make things weirder at about 4 this morning I had 89 direct traffic to one listing. The listing was one that was on Etsy's FP yesterday, but this was a long time afterwords.

I'm not complaining of course! Traffic is good! It's just such a mystery!

I had the same thing happen to me yesterday. I am just as clueless as to where it may be coming from. Checked google analytics and it didn't help much. It's great when it happens, but weird at the same time.
