I still haven't gotten a sale ... I opened 2 months ago. I have had over 1300 views on my shop and over 300 favorites. I post on Tumblr (which actually helps me alot with views surprisingly) and I post on my FB page. I also have a website and a blog that I keep up with pretty regularly. I am constantly checking my SEO and tweeking my titles & descriptions. I have signed up for international shipping. I am slowly changing my photos so they are cleaner, brighter and more professional (although -- I think this may be my biggest thing to work on, it's also the hardest b/c of my little kiddos at home). I have posted a couple of times on the pricing critique page and the prices seem to be good. I do treasuries, I like and favorite and follow .... so now:

Is it just not "crochet season" ?? I sell lots of bracelets, though.

Or is it just that I am a newbie and I need to be more patient? If it's the latter, I am okay with that. I just need to know!

Sounds like your doing everything you should be doing.

I'm no expert and have only been open a while myself, but you could try putting your items on people and then photographing them?

I also find Tumblr gets me lots of views.

Yes, I could get a model. I had a model in the beginning, but the photos didn't turn out well b/c of lighting and background. I am going to try again -- just hard to get someone to fit my schedule....

I am going to have my first booth at a craft fair in a week and hopefully that will get me some insights too.

Hi Helen - You are one busy lady!!!! Your shop is very lovely :-) Looks like you are doing all the right things and on the couple items I looked at your tags looked right on.
Don't get discouraged it does take time - I waited several months before my first sale and then they just kept increasing over time. I think you will get there too.
You are very smart to crochet different items that are for year round. But remember too, that it's winter somewhere :-)

Sandy, thanks for the nice words!! I am a busy lady :) I always have been! I am one of those that "can't sit still". I am starting to think about fall and winter and already have cozy cowl made, just haven't listed it yet ... thinking about putting some men's hats & scarves in my shop, too as well as some little boy things. I have a whole list of ideas that keeps growing!! Which keeps me motivated, honestly.

Glad to hear that someone else started slowly with sales, too. I just need some encouragement, I think that some day it WILL happen and this is not all in vain and a total time sucker.

Adding more items is also going to be helpful, it takes time to build a shop. You are headed in the right direction. :)

Thanks for all the support!! Sounds like I am doing what I can, and I just need more patience ;) ... you would think I have learned this from being a Mom of 3 but guess you cannot have enough when it's something so personal as a shop of your own. Thanks again everyone!!

Love your shop, I think you will be swimming in sales soon. Remember in most parts of the country it is still over 100 (105 here today) so we don't really search for warm items until September. I will personally be remembering your shop as soon as it cools off.

As for SEO it seems you are doing everything right.

Wonderful advice. Thanks -- so glad my SEO is headed the right direction (whew)(it's a little overwhelming to learn, I have to admit -- I am on a SEO team and I learn things from the initial posts every time).

Guess I will just keep doing what I am doing!! Nice thing about not having sales yet is that I have time to bulk up my shop :)
