I got a "C" for Listing Freshness"

I'm using Shoptimizer and love having an objective review of my shop, but what is "listing freshness?" Does this mean I need to re-list more frequently? Can't afford that, if it does mean that.

I think Shoptimizer tells you what each category means. Click "fix it," and you'll learn more. And don't worry about the "F"." I got one for titles because Shoptimizer favors short titles, and mine are long (a la the recommendation of the SEO Team). It's not a perfect system, but it can be very helpful. I like it too.

I just went there and what I got from the advice was if you change your tags ever so often or change a few words in the description it looks fresh to new viewers. You don't have to renew to do that.

Nevermind I found it. I was surprised the only thing my shop didn't get an A on was attributes. Does anyone use them?

Ok what I am going to say might not be popular, but I find that tool to be stupid. I spent money and time on "SEO" tools and honestly I got nothing after all that time and money. Don't get me wrong a few basic rules do help but beyond that it's a mix of guess work and nonsense.

I say try to get features from big blogs and other ways of directing people to your shop. Because all these tools and advice is just nonsense.

One thing, and the only that really helped is the guide that GOOGLE put together on SEO and what helps directly from google. Otherwise don't bother.

There that's the official guide from google. I would not recommend any other tool or service.

there is no magic formula that these people know. if it was that easy we would all have page one rank.

if you search seo tools, this site is not on the first or second page, so if their tools are so good where is the proof?

i dont want to be a debbie downer but i am worried that people will make changes to their shops that might HURT their ranking because of this snake oil tool.

and one last note, google follows and looks at tools like this. if a tool is too good and actually works to make your ranking artificially high, google changes the code so that doesnt happen anymore.

Totally agree. If I'm getting all As from shoptimizer I would think I would atleast have one sale. Thanks for adding the google info it's something I know I need to look more into.

I got a B on my listing freshness! Went through and started making small changes throughout my shop to boost that grade. I really liked the input of shoptimizer, so glad someone mentioned it on here last week. Definitely something i'll continue to periodically use!
