I can't understand

I'm so confused, last week someone ask me if I can scan 60 vintage letters, I scaned for her and now I don't know nothing about her. She didn't answer my convos and she didn't buy my items.
What can I do?

Re: I can't understand

Hi BlueGrizzle

Unfortunately there really isn't anything you can do. I had someone interested in a custom order a few weeks ago and it took her almost a week to reply back and purchase. Sometimes people don't check their etsy as often as us shop owners do, so you have to give them a little more time to respond.

For future custom orders or requests make sure the customer pays you first, so that way you aren't doing a bunch of work with the uncertainty of them buying from you. This is what I always do and I haven't had any problems with people paying first.

Re: I can't understand

Thanks Casi, but how can someone pay first? I don't know how it works.

You can set up a listing with a reserved photo (use a generic photo). Write up the description and list it. It can then be purchased.

Re: I can't understand

Example:

Someone convos me and wants one of my heart dishes, but they want one in yellow and I don't have any listed in yellow. I tell them a custom colored dish will take 'however many days to complete', will cost '$' and I let them know a custom listing will be made for them to purchase and that once payment is received I will begin working on their piece. (I re word all of this to sound more professional too : )

I simply make a new listing for them that has the requested color change listed and other details about the order in the description...kind of like this custom listing I just did. https://www.etsy.com/transaction/141830172?

Now all they do is purchase their custom order and then you start working on their requests.

Does this make sense? I use to do custom orders without payment first and I always had an uncertainty feeling about each of them because I never knew if that person had forgotten or changed their mind...So now I always do payment first, work next.

Re: I can't understand

Like Elanie said...Just use your logo as the cover picture for the custom orders, that's what I do and I've seen a lot of other shops do this for custom orders.
