I am finally getting some traffic, but no sales! Need help

I am relatively new to ETSY. I am just getting really serious about my shop and desperately need advice. If anyone can take a look at my shop and give me any tips I would greatly appreciate it. I am doing everything I can to get traffic to my shop, now that the traffic is staring to pick up I am thrilled, but it hasn't helped my sales at all. Not sure what I am doing wrong, unless maybe it is priced too high.

Any advice??????

When I find that I'm getting lots of views on a product, but no sales, I always take a close look at my photos and description.

In your case, I looked at a couple of listings and still had lots of questions: what do the bags look like inside? how much can they hold? (could you show a photo of some common items in the bag?) how long are "extra long" handles? (does that mean I can put the bag over my shoulder? could you show someone carrying the bag?) is the pocket zipped or snapped shut? (is is possible to show a photo of the pocket?) is it machine-washable? will it shrink or fade?

You get the idea. :)

If customers are *very* interested, they might email and ask you to answer the questions. But some of them will just move on to another shop.

How many views are you getting daily? How many are coming from etsy vs direct? Do you promote, if so where?

One quick tip.

Leave out the word 'adorable' and 'gorgeous' from your titles. Think like a buyer! If you were searching for similar items what would YOU search?

Your prices are good, lots of variety. Make sure you describe the process about how you create your items...

If your getting views but no sales, then your not targeting the people that are looking for your products. Who's your target market? Find some popular blogs and advertise with them.

I think your work is beautiful! It is a little pricey for what I like to pay for a bag. I usually stay around the $45 dollar mark for when I purchase a tote or beach bag. Totally agree with Michelle in that you need to add more information about the bag. Be specific about its features. Being more specific will add value to your listings and could be just the thing you need to get more sales without lowering your prices.

For the listing below. The bag is cute but the listing title does not need to be cute. I would change the title as suggested above to be specific and list the bags size, color & functionality. Also don't repeat the same words such as clutch in the title

For example I'd title it:
"Small Blue clutch summer weight, nautical accessory bridesmaid gift" Make sure your title is repeated as the first sentence in your listing. Then use the other terms to fluff up your listing with the details as suggested above.

I can't give you advice as a seller, but I can give you advice as a shopper.
This listing is what I like and would buy
http://www.etsy.com/listing/102685614/clutch-indoor-outdoor-material-water?ref=shop_home_active

This is the listing that, well I could say, rejects me from buying:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/152907153/black-polka-dot-clutch-perfect-for?ref=shop_home_active

The first one looks "nice to eye". The second one looks chaotic.
When I look at the listing, I want to be attracted, not distracted. :)
Shortly, you have very nice items, you should emphasize them!

(If I could only successfully selfcritique my shop :(

Thanks for the info, I somehow missed this post. I REALLY appreciate the advice. Is it the picture or the description...or both?

From a buyers perspective I like to see how it would like on a model carrying the bag. It gives me a visual of how big/small the bag is.

My first thought besides, these bags are really cute, was that you need more stock. No matter how cute they are if you don't have a lot of variety shoppers will move on to another shop so they can have lots of options to look at and make sure they have picked the one they like best. You have a decent number of totes, but not of the other items. So if you have the time I would focus on increasing your number of items.

Also, it's best if items are photographed on a neutral surface so that the item stands out and your shop has a nice cohesive look. At least for the thumbnail photo.

Good luck!
