How wouold you search for my items?

I am in the process of making and relisting a bunch of items to make my store more cohesive. I am looking into pricing, SEO, listing descriptions, the works!

I have found etsy gadget, ets keyword ads pricelist and Google Adwords extremely helpful but I am stumped at finding the initial search terms to plug in to these tools. What do people search for when looking for earrings?

How would you search for my items?

Hi Cecile,
When I search for earrings I always use the words like~
The color I want
The materiel I want my earrings made from
The size
The style, Like post or not
and also if they are handmade
As all of us know many things on etsy are just not handmade:)
Also if the earrings are OOAK (one of a kind) It's really nice to know.

If I'm searching for earrings, I'll be looking for colour, style, price and materials.

So if I'm looking for gold hoops then I'll search 'gold hoop earrings'.

When you write titles you may find that if you write as if you are saying to your girlfriend 'hey look at the lovely new xxxx that I just finished' that your titles will make much more sense.

With something like earrings, I'd have to be pretty specific. I like to browse and get ideas, so I normally start with general search terms like Scarf or Wallet, but Earrings is simply too big. I'd look at style and material, most likely. Words like African and Bead come to mind, but also, you might try tags like Colorful Earrings. For people who browse, we might try that as a keyword, looking to knock out the more typical silver and gold jewelry from the search. If you do use Colorful Earrings on a piece or two, you might want to have Earrings for Women as a tag as well, for someone trying to look at color without pages of kids' jewelry.
