I'm interested in making gift certificates available in my shop. I do understand etsy has gift cards, but thought I may make a personal gift certificate as well especially for Chantel and Me. My problem is I can't wrap my mind around how it would work. I can see needing to number the certificates to keep up with how much money has been spent or to make sure it isn't used twice. But how do you do that from the seller's side? How does a buyer buy using your gift certificate - by using the 'other' option and then somehow adding a note with the gc number? Then if there is money left over do you then send a new certificate number? For some reason I just cant visualize this. Any experience?
Also, has anyone had success selling gift certificates in your shop?
