How to tag my items now?

Hello all!

Im a bit confused about how to tag my items now that is a new "searching system" http://www.etsy.com/blog/en/2011/putting-your-shop-on-top-etsy%E2%80%99s-most-relevant-search/

Do you add a single word in a space or various? Is it better more specifically tags in a phrase or only one word?

I also find that is not simple to add tags. In previous conversations, they advise:
-think for how is it for? children, mothers, etc
-dimension
-particular colors
-for which occasion
-use ONLY one word per tag

Hope it could help you, I also try to test these kind of tags with my news items. Will see if it works!

A last advise: maybe if you can find someone with similar items of yours you can check which tags they use...

Another question: if you add, for example, the word "retro" in your description, is it necessary to repeat it adding that word in a tag? And if its in the title??

That is a good question if it is in the title, do you need to tag as well. I am guessing yes but I am a newbie so I can't wait to see what other people say :)

I look at my shop stats to see what search terms are bringing people to my shop and add some of these terms to my tags as I renew.

They are often two or three word phrases.
