How to promote a shop through social media?

Is there a step by step instructions on how to start, set up and promote a shop through social media? I would need to begin at the basics such as how to set up something in facebook, twitter etc. and then how to promote it from here. I am not familiar with this area at all and am intimidated by it. I know I need to do this and learn how to be more active on here as well. Thanks for any information!

Handmadeology has a great social media course, it's free and gets you started on everything. Just Google handmadeology and social media. They have a lot of great info for Etsy sellers on their site :)
