It worked quite well and the blogpost was amusing. I do recommend reinforcing the front top piece of the box (it's thin) as over time it starts to bend.
you can also take your lightbox outside (when it's sunny and not blizzarding) and that way you don't have to shine lights on it, but you get nicer photos without harsh shadows - that's how I do all my photos.
I now use posterboard for my backgrounds, and found clip lamps at the Lowe's were cheaper than target, but the secret is still full spectrum bulbs. I have to take my photos at 4am because of my schedule, so this has really saved me!
