How to list jewelry sets

I searched through the forums to find out if this has been discussed yet and not much has been said. I am debating as to how to list certain sets of necklaces and earrings. I have had several customers purchase matching sets recently and would like to offer them as separates as well. Should I make 3 listings? Each single and then a set offered? I would like to give a few dollars off the price of a set if purchased, so it makes it a bit difficult to simply list them as all separates. Would a coupon code be appropriate?

Re: How to list jewelry sets

You can always put a link in a single listing to a listing for the set. Put something like.. For a matching set of earrings and necklace visit. Blah blah and save some money too!

Re: How to list jewelry sets

Good question, I haven't figured out the best thing to do either. Every time I want to list something as a set I decide to list them separately just in case someone only wants part of the set! I do have two sets in my shop, but the rest that are parts of sets I list separately and then put links to the other pieces of the set. I do hope to list some More as sets soon, though, I'm sure some ppl

Re: How to list jewelry sets

I just listed 2 jewelry sets (necklace, bracelet and earrings) and was wondering the same thing. Haven't had a lot of views so maybe it would be better to list as separate listings, bracelet and necklace go together, the bracelet is the extension for the necklace but the earrings could be separate. Don't know.

Re: How to list jewelry sets

A lot of people don't like to buy the whole set, necessarily. If I list jewelry that matches in heartsabustin, I list the pieces separately, but put links to the pieces that match in the listing, if that makes sense. I have sold them all together before, but sometimes, they just want the bracelet, and I don't want them to have to send me a convo. Jewelry tends to be an impulse thing, and I don't want to drive a customer away because it's all listed together.

I think sets work better in vintage, where it makes more sense to sell the whole parure or demi-parure together (fancy French words for sets that go together. :D)

I agree with Casey. List separates with a link to the set listing. Gives customer options and beefs up your item count, as well!

I need to do this, too. My past three orders have been for necklaces and earrings that customers thought would make a good match to the necklace. If my customers are creating "sets", I think that shows a preference!

Re: How to list jewelry sets

Currently I just include a link to the matching item. I do intend to make some sets in the future, though. I think it's a good idea to have both available. Some people want sets, some people want singles.

Re: How to list jewelry sets

I would definitely list everything seperately AND as a set. This way you get more visibility for when customers search for sets or for individual pieces.

Put a link for the set inside each individual listing (ie. in the earring listing AND the necklace listing write "this is available as a set, with a $X discount here: www.xx.etsy.com/xx)

Re: How to list jewelry sets

Thanks so everyone for the input. For those that list separate, do you consider a discount if someone purchases both items? I offer a few dollar price break at my craft fairs and think it might help encourage someone to purchase both pieces. I haven't figured out the best way to state this or logistically make it happen within my Etsy shop.
