How to get your shop out there

I'm having trouble getting people, other than family and friends, to hear about my new shop. So far I've had 7 sales, 6 sales going to friends! Eventually I'm going to need OTHERS to start hearing about my shop. Any advice on advertising? I've made a facebook page for my shop, which has about 50 likes, however for some reason almost nobody sees the updates. Please, ANY help would be much appreciated!

Join twitter. That would improve views. Ask the friends who purchased to give referrals. I wish I had some nice friends with money....After a year in Etsy, I am still struggling with views and sales. Please don't give up. You will get where you wanted to be. The holiday season is coming right?

Or, locally, you can do craft shows, join a local team here on Etsy, or put your stuff on consignment at stores that support handmade in your area.
