How to get the right customers for my product and increase my sales?

I am new to facebook, I opened my shop in the middle of November, I have been learning a lot , thru threads, treasuries and etsy handbook. When I first opened my shop , I was very pleased with my sales and views, was added to quite a few treasuries, circles and things were looking good, but I seem to have hit a plateau, it seems like the more changes I make, the less views and favorites I am getting. I don't know if it is normally slow for my product , this time of year or if I am not hitting the right customer base. Still getting quite a few views and favorites, but no sales. I cannot adjust my prices, because I sell to galleries and cannot undersell them, but I can change anything else. Help please, I need some input and don't worry , I did Arts and Craft Shows and Art Festivals for many years , and I can take it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would love to hear what others have to say about this because I have hit the doldrums as well. I had a successful Nov. & Dec. and now I am getting only a few views per day and I am even paying for search ads, so go figure! Is it always this slow in Jan.?

Think of Etsy as a cheep simple web presence.

Etsy is only about 2-5% of my sales. Keep working the other outlets of your business. Being in galleries and getting eyes on your images is the best way to sell.

Re: How to get the right customers for my product and increase my sales?

I just started really working on my shop a couple of months ago. I have been reviewing the shops that are successfully selling paintings and prints, and then comparing them to my own shop. I am new to this, but it seems like a lot of the art that does sell is very simple, paintings of individual animals with a white background, portraits of birds, highly stylized scenes. The artists that sell compositions or full paintings do not seem to sell as much. Also, many of the prints for sale are small, 8 " by 10". Are these observations in line with what you are experiencing/seeing? All of my sales thus far have been directed to my shop from outside networking. I have not had a sale from any anonymous Etsy shoppers.
