How to get in the Search feeds first few pages?

Just got done looking at the jewelry section and was wondering how folks get themselves in the first few pages? I know there is a lot of jewelry being offered for sale on Etsy, just wondering how to really make it to the first page-ish!

I noticed when I first post or repost an item it appears in first few pages and I get views from it. So I'd say recency of listing affects it being in first page(s).

I can't view my items when I search for them and use a local search (Minnesota). Anyone know how to fix this?
