How to get blog followers?

I recently started a blog on Blogspot and have just three followers (one of whom is my friend). So how do you suggest I gain some exposure for my blog? I'd appreciate any tips you may have to offer. Thank you! ;)

With any social media, an important thing is to create a connection with your audience.. which means you should try to interact with other bloggers too. Read other blogs, comment, follow, make a connection. Advertise your blog on your facebook page, twitter ,etc. (I have my blog automatically update onto twitter as well.. so followers on twitter can see when new posts get added)

The most important part in a blog (I think) is the connection to other bloggers. That means, reading other people's blogs, leaving comments (and not just "this is great", "wonderful post" etc.), following other blogs. It takes a little while, but bloggers tend to visit the blogs of the people who leave comments and thus they might become followers to your blog.
