How to get Facebook fans for my shop's FB page???

Hello!

I am trying to figure out how to get more Facebook followers without paying for FB's page promotion. I list the Web address at the bottom of every item description, it is linked to my shop (so people can simply click the "like" button), and it is right at the top of my Announcements section. I only offer coupon codes through the Facebook page in an attempt to get more people over there.

I think it is important to have a FB following because 1) I'm on there often, 2) I can give my shop some personality and perhaps gain some loyal customers that way, and 3) I can post my newest listings, what I'm working on, ask questions, etc.

I also have a business Pinterest account, which has helped get my shop more views. But doesn't really help the FB thing.

Please don't mention Instagram. I do not own a smart phone, my tablet just went kaput, and I use a regular digital camera to take photos. Plus, I don't really want to figure out yet another social networking site! :P

Unless people are frequently clicking the "like" button or commenting, your shop won't show up in their newsfeed. You might want to remind them frequently. For this reason, I find facebook to be pretty worthless for my other shop. I've given up on it. Some people do well on FB but I think they really have to be active and have customers who are also very active.

I'm with Lori. Unless your fans are really active on it, than it won't show up in their feed. I've just about given up on FB. (I put a lot of my focus on Twitter and Instagram).

But if you do want to use FB, just like social media, you want to post there at least daily and don't spam your customers. Use the 80/20 rule. 80% of what you post should be "Fun" stuff, like behind the scenes things you are working on, funny pictures, etc. Than the other 20% will be your actual promoting of listings.

Also, google "Facebook Marketing." This will give you a lot more tips on how to efficiently use Facebook. I know before from my research, if you hashtag y our posts, most people clicked on posts that had two hashtags, but if it had three or more, they wouldn't click. And pictures got more clicks than just regular posts. I'm sure there's a lot more stuff out there, but these are the only ones I remember.
