How to Promote Etsy shop on Facebook?

I have been promoting a lot on my Facebook page that I created for my Etsy store. I have about 50 or so followers so far which is great, but my problem is that aside from my mom and sister, my page is basically dead silent. I've tried a couple of giveaways and not one person took part of it. I have updated my page about once or twice per day, and try to keep it exciting.. but it's dead, no likes outside of my family, and only one purchase directly from my page. What should I do/ or not do?

I find promoting on FB really really hard if you don't pay for promotions.

I did the promotions once on FB to get followers. I got them, and than they were silent. Would never do paid promotions on there again.

If I hashtag things just right, I'll get some views. If I like my stuff from my personal account, I might get some more views. Beyond that, if people aren't really active on your fb account, than your page won't show in their feed.

It is definitely harder than I thought it would be. I love to be vocal & supportive on pages, so I'm surprised they don't even just click 'like' every blue moon. I didn't know my page would stop showing on their feed if they aren't active, yikes!

Re: How to Promote Etsy shop on Facebook?

Yeah, that's why I'm not on FB any longer. I get that they're a business and need to make money and that's their way to do it. But I just find it overwhelmingly difficult to get any decent promotions there. And I didn't like how if people aren't active with liking your stuff, it just disappears. :(

I just focused my efforts on Twitter and Instagram.

Yes I agree you do need to be active. I have over 200 followers. I will post every time I add new listings to my etsy shop

Join some groups, they seem to be a way of seeing and getting seen by others into the same sort of things. I've only just tried this btw so I can't tell if it gets eyes to my store but it is nice to give and get feedback.

Re: How to Promote Etsy shop on Facebook?

Have you try Facebook Groups? and schedule your post at the best times?, do you know your ideal client and how to get it? there is a difference on just posting and targeting your customers. Are you networking on Facebook?

Re: How to Promote Etsy shop on Facebook?

Hi, I've tried joining some yard sale groups on FB, some Shabby Chic groups, Handmade groups, etc.. I get a lot of views, and some likes from these groups, but most don't come to my page & join or order. Sometimes it seems like there is a clique in these groups.

Re: How to Promote Etsy shop on Facebook?

I belong to some Etsy groups on FB. I'm active on about two of them.

I promote every so often on them. The one i'm more active on is similar to this team, so I'll help every so often when people ask questions.

I really don't promote my FB page on those teams because it ends up people liking my page just for likes on theirs and I get bombarded with messages saying ,"Hey, from XYZ team. I liked your pages, come like mine." Just as a personal policy, I only really "like" pages and/or items that I really like. Begging, and those games, really irritate me.

But the more you post on your fb page (well on all social media), the more followers you will get. But you have to make sure its interesting things, not just promoting your store. People will get turned off and just see it as spam.
