How-to Guide on creating a Facebook Page

I just wanted to share, for those of you that haven't opened one yet , this useful link on how to create a Facebook page.

Pay special attention at the type of business page you choose ( brand, local business, organization, etc.) because each type has different functions. You can always change it later, but starting the page with the right one can probably get you on a faster way to have fans interact with your posts.

For those of you thinking of doing promotions with your FB page, they have revamped the guidelines , so that it is very clear what is doable when it comes to giveaways and such..

If Facebook finds that you are not following these guidelines by someone reporting you, you can lose all your privileges and even your personal profile on Facebook with no chance of getting it back, so please be careful with what you se it for..

OK, I read the article but I still have a question - is there a diff between having a business/shop page and having a fan page?

This is my biz page, but all the people on my personal page have to see what I post on the biz page! Am I doing this wrong? I have been wondering this for awhile now, SO glad you brought it up! Sara

Ok business page and fan page is the same thing. Now to answer the 2nd question, maybe I can explain a few things and that might help you understand what's happening with the interaction of your page:

- Friends on your personal page can view your Business Page posts if:

/// they have become fan of the business page, by clicking like, they have agreed to view all the things you post there... Pretty much

/// you click the share button on one of your own business page posts and then thru the dialog box post it on your personal wall.. They will see what you are "sharing"

/// If any of your friends is tagged in a picture on your page, they will see it in their news feed.

I think that beside tagging, sharing or liking there's no way for a person even if they are your friend, to have your posts automatically appears in their news feeds..


Now if what you are referring to, is that everytime you post on your business page, you can see the post in between your friends' posts on YOUR news feed, don't worry that's normal.. That only means that you as a fan/admin of your own page , you are seeing the post like other fans would.. But other non-fans shouldn't be able to see it, unless one of the 3 things mentioned above happened...
