How to Get More Facebook Likes?

My shop is only about 5 days old, and I started a fb fan page probably this past Monday. Right now I have 46 likes. I invited all of my friends from my personal page, and have posted links. It's been difficult for me to get multiple likes, I've maybe gotten 3 in the past 2-3 days. How have you guys found success in getting more likes on Facebook? What types of promotions have/have not worked for you guys? Here's the link to my page, I'd like to know if it appears professional enough and maybe that's why I'm having trouble getting more likes:

I'm still working on adding more products, do you think maybe that's why I don't have as many likes? How long did it take you guys to start getting a bunch of likes?

Have you thought about putting a link in your shop announcement, policy, and or your profile page? Doing those can help. Plus you can also consider adding the link in your "Message to Buyer" section.

As far as the page itself, I think it looks great! I have no suggestion to make.

I haven't got a FB page for this shop but I had one for my other Etsy shop, which I closed a couple of months ago. It's a lot of effort to maintain a shop FB page and keep things interesting. I just don't have the energy to put into it right now.

Your new shop and FB page both look great. I just noticed your dog's name is Oliver. I have a cat named Oliver. Great name!

Another way to increase likes is to find a Facebook follow thread in teams you have joined; team members follow each other.

Judy, that's too cute! Is it an orange cat? Every time I hear about cat's named Oliver I think of the cat from Oliver and Company, Lol :)

Stephanie, no he's not orange. He's a big, fat flame point Siamese mix. We adopted him from a local shelter. The shelter named him Boomer but my son came up with the name Oliver instead. He also has the nicknames of Dum Dum (self-explanatory) and Moosey Moose (because he's so big - lol).

Hey Stephanie - I really struggle with facebook too! Recently I have started posting pics of custom orders and then I send a message to the buyer about the posted pic - that has seemed to increase my likes and comments a lot in the last couple of weeks.

Judy, how cute! Yeah, my Oliver is a goof ball too. He's not chubby, but he is abnormally large for his breed. They're supposed to reach a max of 18lbs, and he's like 23 and just turned one..so he might grow even more!

Visit other dog-related Facebook pages and comment on posts. Keep the comments relevant and non-spammy.

Also, you might want to make a few YouTube videos--of making your treats, of your dog enjoying your treats, etc. Put a link in the video to your shop and to your Facebook page. I get lots of hits from YouTube.

there are a few blogs that you can work with for facebook likes - check out fabulous fun finds! i ended up with about 800+ likes after working with them

There are a few Teams about Facebook, you should search, and add yourself to lists and follow others...etc. OR try a giveaway on your page+you can invite reg friends from your personal page to your Page and get them follow you:)

There are teams around that have threads that are basically 'you like me and I'll like you' that you can join.

Personally I wouldn't worry about the number of 'likes' you have .

What you really want are your target market to 'like' your page and share it with their friends. Just having a huge number of likes really doesn't help the business at all I've found.

I just like your facebook page because I really really love the idea, making Gourmet food for dogs :)
Maybe it can be common in usa but I'v never heard somethnig like this in turkey or Europe.

As a long time facebook addict :) I can say do not only post your products...but share original, intresting posts which can take attention of dog owners. Nothing is more disturbing than product spamming on facebook. You need to make a balance between your product annoncements and other posts. Like tv commercials , nobody sit in front of tv to watch commercials. You hve to be sure that people find intresting material on your facebook page.

Nejat hit the nail on the head, which is the main reason I DON'T have a Facebook page for this shop. It's difficult for me to come up with interesting topics with a bunch of strangers. I follow a few Etsy shops with my personal FB. One in particular posts everyday but she rarely posts links to her shop. She posts to let people know when she's ordering new supplies or when something has sold out, she offers the occasional coupon code (which I've taken advantage of), she asks for opinions on new scents or product lines (she sells soap) and she posts silly stuff about trying to make soap with a toddler in the house ... stuff like that. She doesn't get a ton of comments on her status updates but her shop is very successfuI. I'd love to have a FB page like that but I haven't got the knack for creating interesting and witty banter with strangers.

For a very small fee, you could try target marketing on facebook for just a short period of time. It will target whomever you like. You set who your audience is. Best of luck.

It is 5 USD, but you have a permanent link to your shop and plenty of people with their facebook pages.
I only do honest likes, so I skipped the ones I wasn't interested in, but I found some really interesting pages/shops too :) Most importantly I got a lot of new likes and as I share some of their stuff I like they'll hopefully return the favour at some point ...

Definitely give it some time. Slowly but surely, steady daily posts and new content will bring in new viewers or more active current "likes". Remaining active in the communities is also a big part of gaining your own following. I had a FB fan page as an author and when I was active for other authors and on the different platforms (FB, Google +, blogging, etc) that was when I saw steady incoming streams of people.

I paid 5 bucks for an ad on ilikeetsy.com about a month ago. I stop by and update it one a day. Since then I've gotten over 200 FB likes from it.

What I do on my shop page is promote work I like by Etsy artists, promote treasuries, mention the work I'm doing or the music I'm listening to while working, that sort of thing. Since I do have a blog I'm used to sharing my life with strangers more or less and don't mind doing it for a good cause (my art). My problem is restraining myself actually from overpowering people with posts
