How to Change Shipping Rates

Since shipping rates will be changing in a few days, is there any way to do bulk editing on all of my items? I tried changing my shipping profile and changed my rates there, but it does not seem to make changes to already listed items.

And is there any way to put in different shipping rates for different parts of the US? I live in OH and use USPS prioirty mail. It costs considerably more to ship to CA than IL, for example. Why can't I post different shipping rates based upon postal zones? Right now I charge a rate for all US customers that is somewhere in between....customers who live close pay a bit more than actual shipping, customers farther away pay a bit less than the actual shipping cost. It does balance out, but it would be nice to at least offer a bit lower cost to some, especially since rates are increasing so.

You can edit the shipping profile for each listing on the shipping page in your account. Click on the link at the top that says "Your Shop: BrushStrokeOrnaments." On the left click on Shipping. You can change each item's shipping profile manually on that page. If you edited the shipping profiles to increase the rate, you still have to change them on that page so the new rates show up in your listings.

I am so dreading this upcoming shipping increase. Yes, you can update your profiles, but then you have to MANUALLY re-confirm your profiles in all your listings, so what is the use?
My husband is a software engineer, and when I described this procedure to him, he was incredulous. This is so poorly done, it is costing us all hours of our lives. Why can't etsy fix this, or, better yet, give us a shipping calculator?
I can't think of many things where ebay is better than etsy, but here we really are lagging behind big time...

I guess you get what you pay for. Etsy's transaction fees are less and they don't charge us a percentage of our shipping fees like ebay does.

@Judy: ebay is a publicly traded company, and, in my mind, they are all about the money. Charging a percentage of the shipping fees is a rather recent (within the last 2 years) development, and an attempt to stop sellers from gouging customers on shipping while keeping their items priced competitively.
But they have had a shipping calculator forever.

Now I don't know how expensive such a calculator would be for etsy to introduce, and I don't want something for nothing, but my main point was that the shipping profiles don't really do their job, if any change still needs to be applied manually. We have postal increases pretty much every year. This is very poorly designed, and I have to believe etsy gets inundated with pleas to fix this one way or another, but we are not hearing about it. If a shipping calculator is too expensive for the current fee structure, why don't they tell us, and give us an option to weigh in?
To me, this seems more important than coming up with new 'browse features' and whatnot. (I just realize, I may be a tad cranky, anticipating all that extra work coming up...)

I'm a vintage seller with many different weight items, and thus many shipping profiles. And I still have to go in to each one to make sure that I have the right profile for each item. When I edit, it doesn't show which profile I chose, just the rates. Definitely not seller friendly.
So, yeah, having a shipping calculator available would be great.
