How soon do you usually post custom listings?

Three days ago, I messaged an Etsy seller to see if she had long metal hair combs in silver (they only had them listed in gold). She said yes and asked if I wanted her to put up a listing for 10 silver ones, to which I replied, "Yes, please." The listing still isn't up. Is it normal for someone to take that long to post a custom listing for a customer? She doesn't need to take new pictures or anything; it just needs to say "Reserved for Ariella" or something.

I like buying my supplies on Etsy because I like supporting fellow Etsians, even if I could get something a bit cheaper elsewhere. She's the only one on Etsy who seems to sell that length of metal combs, so I'll have to go to Ebay or Amazon if she doesn't put the listing up in the next day or so. It's very frustrating, but I'm not sure if I'm just so glued to Etsy that I expect things to happen more quickly than is reasonable.

Three days seems like a long time, as she's not making them or anything. I would give it another day and if she doesn't list it, go to another site, sadly.

When I receive a custom order I always contact the potential buyer through Etsy convo and their E-mail.

Not all buyers check their Etsy account daily like the sellers do.

Try e-mailing her too

Re: How soon do you usually post custom listings?

I see no harm in convo'ing her again. I totally would.
"Hi, we convo'd a few days ago about you setting up a listing for me with 10 silver long metal hair combs. I'm just checking in because I haven't seen the listing and I would love to purchase these a.s.a.p"
Best case scenario, she forgot and lists it right away. Worst case, she doesn't have them, can't find them and doesn't create the listing and you go with your plan B.
I always vote for extra communication in times of confusion :)

I post mine right away, in case they are impulse buying and all of my custom listings have been bought with in an 1 hour. Got one up now that I hope rings true.

I post mine as fast as my little fingers can fly! Strike while the iron is hot!

I would contact her again - maybe something interrupted her & she forgot? Is she a new seller & maybe isn't sure how to go about it?

I contacted her again. Hopefully she'll list them soon. She's not a new seller - she's been around since 2009 and has 431 sales.

I post mine as soon as possible. I definitely wouldn't wait three days and risk losing the sale. I hope she gets it listed for you soon.

The two I've had recently I posted within an hour. Three days seems like a really long time.

Re: How soon do you usually post custom listings?

I post them immediately unless it is something I have to research like purchasing a special pattern or materials and I'm not sure how much those things are going to cost but during this time I am always in contact with the customer.
Hope she gets back with you soon.
