Somewhere between dismal and pathetic. Last year, I did great until August or September. Then Google introduced their Hummingbird upgrade, and Etsy started running test after test after interminable test on the site and on our shops.
I think I've averaged one sale a month this year. And that's been with ads run (off Etsy) and blog articles and tweeting and pinning and...... you get the idea.
I'm with Erin above me.. Dismal and pathetic. I had great business Last fall through December and then January hit and... its been miserable. Down over 62% in last year's revenue.
My #1 sellers aren't even represented in search. It appears I am out of rotation or what not. Forget browse, I am never seen.
So far I'm on track to double sales over last year - both for the month of May and for the year (based on average monthly sales to date), so I'm very excited!
Now that I have been at this for over 2.5 years, I know that May is my slowest month of the year. Seriously, it's like watching paint dry! I just try to stay focused on production so I can be ready for the busy season. However, as it is, my views are up over last year by over 700 for May 1-21 time period. Sales and revenue are running slightly ahead. Last year, things picked up in the last few days of the month.
May has been good to me. My views are low as are my favorites, but 10 sales or 24+ items so far. Hoping to hit my 120 sales before June. Plus have been working hard on new items for fall/winter. Getting ready for holiday season early.
I have been slow the past couple weeks. Now with the holiday weekend, I'm not expecting much in sales. I think people travel and/or camping without internet access. Unfortunately I still don't have much time to work on new items.
