How much do you invest in Search Ads?

I'm wondering how much and how often people invest in Search Ads on Etsy? I've tried it a little bit and while I definitely get an increase in views and likes, I'm wondering if others find it gives them a huge increase in actual sales? Is it good practice to invest in the $5/week option? Do some shops do more? What do you do for your own shop?

I use search ads all of the time, especially at Christmas (but Oct Nov sales).... and I use now about $50-100 a week and I get a lot of view and favorites but I find that I get a lot of sales. I am a fair shop owner and love to give discounts for packages and returning customers (ask any of them and they will tell you)! I believe in giving and that sending out lots of good karma means good things come back to you :) You have to be open to them and they will come! Never ceases to amaze me. I lower the ad pricing I spend in the off season..... Using key words and less of them is great. I used to use a lot of nonsense words and that didn't get me very far! Good luck!

Only sale I have made is from a person who joined etsy few hours before purchase. So now I am seriously thinking of stoping the adds.. I think they don't do me right...
It would be nice if there would be some kind of paying add to get to the front page.. I don't think they help very much. :/ (or maybe I am just inpatient)

I feel that for me search ads would work better if you had the ability to just use a couple of key words rather than 10, and be able to choose words you wanted.

I invested $5 each week and I got good amount of views, few favs and one order so far. I don't think the result was bad but seeing that my tags are working it makes me happy. I'd definitely try it again sometime later.

I've tried them a few times, and never with success. I still have them running because my studio-mate (who makes a totally different product - ladies underwear) does really well with them and I still hope.

The pre-chosen keywords aren't great though - it would definitely be better to be able to choose what keywords you show up in. Right now I feel like I'm giving etsy my money for a game of roulette since I have no say in how my products get promoted.

I agree. The keywords should be choosable... I just stopped my adds today. For 11 bucks, only 28 views and 2 fav I don't think it's a good investion.

I've tried search ads three or four times since they started. Haven't had any luck with them at all. I get views but I don't get any sales.

I've tried them with no luck so far. I keep giving them another go when i see threads like this one but with the same poor results. I'm going to resist the temptation to try again I think!

NOT A DIME. I had no luck with the add's at all. IF ETSY DOES NOT INCLUDE my items in the searches, you can rearrange, change titles, change keywords all you want you are not going to make a sale.

I was part of 100 teams and promoted in each one everyday. Well guess what, I am tired, really tired of having to promote on teams and faved everyone's items in order to get views and make a sale (maybe).

Etsy is suppose to include everyone in searches and be found.

I am having an ETSY BURNOUT DAY!

I have another shop and I ran $10 a week but only had one sale ever since. But I am still trying it because it can bring views at least.
