How long do you take for adding a new item?

Hi everyone!

I'm not good in writing description or tag. I usually take 30-40 minutes (not including shooting photo) for adding a new item. How about yours? How long do you take for adding a new item?

Today, my shop finally has 200 items, OMG! unbelievable!!! I'm very proud to have my shop @etsy ^____^

My plan is adding at least 5 items/day, then my shop will have 500 items before my birthday (Dec 1st). As some experts said that we can expect regular sales when we have 500 items or more. It's a long way to go :)

BTW, if you have some time, please kindly visit my shop and comment. Is there anything need to be adjusted or improved? Please kindly tell me, thanks a lot!

Are you asking how long it takes to create each item or how long it takes to create a new listing?

It takes about 10-20 minutes for me. I don't rewrite the description each time though, I copy one from a similar item and paste it in the box and change what needs to be rewritten. The most work is just waiting for the 5 pictures to upload!

Congrats on reaching 200 items! That must have taken a lot of work!

When I'm setting up the actual listing, it generally takes me about 5 minutes.

I've got the description already written (I write as I work) and the tags and titles have already been done as well.

Putting up the listing involves simply filling in the boxes with the information already available.

And if the item is very similar to something that I've already got listed, I'll use the 'copy' function to make it even faster.

I'm with Alisa - I copy a previous listing and then change the details accordingly. Saves tons of time.

We do the same as Micki. Our listings are so similar - cut and sanded bottles - that we are able to change details but keep the basic description the same. Huge time-saver!

Only a few mins, say about 10 on average for each. I do batches of photos at once to speed things up. As you can see though I need some serious work on my descriptions.

I almost ALWAYS copy from other listings and tweak as necessary. So it usually takes 10 minutes or less.

Sometimes it takes me longer to list than it does to make an item! At least it did in the beginning. Now I am getting a streamlined photo routine and I have similar listings I can copy. But in the beginning it was painfully slow.

It probably takes me about 10-20 minutes to get a listing done, this does not include getting the photos uploaded and edited. I am terrible with descriptions, too. As often as possible, I will reuse parts of other listings. My descriptions could definately use work and that is what takes me the longest.

I did "copy" from similar item and then change some details.
My average 30 mins is including photo adjustment, putting shop name on it, and searching for the material name. I sell jewelry and they are made of many different kinds of stones. Some stone/material I don't know how to call in English. That's taking me a lot of time.

After photos and material name are ready, I can finish the listing in 10 mins too ;)
