How long did it take you to make your first sale?

I'm fairly new but my first sale took about 3 and a half weeks.

It took about two months for me. Just hang in there! Give it some time and keep adding to you shop!

i started my shop up after taking a year off jan1 2012 and my first sale was jan11....but that said i see many on these teams still waiting after four months or longer for thier first sale.....i agree keep adding to your shop. selection and variety will increase views which means more potential customers which equals thats first sale...good luck! patience, determination and enjoying what you do really help.

My first sale took about 6 weeks, and I have to say, as long as I keep posting, I don't think I've gone more than 8 weeks without a sale. Of course, I've had 6 month hiatuses where I wasn't active, and that makes a difference.

For me it took about 10 days or so. I was willing to wait 6 months for my first sale. I had read online that it took a popular LA based vintage shop 6 months to get their first online order from their website. So I was willing to wait that long, thankfully, I didn't. I would get at least two pages of items up and keep working your tags and titles and you'll get there!! Good luck!

I was really lucky - I made my first sale the day after I opened my shop. But I've been open for two and a half months, and I just finalized my fifth sale today. I am working on adding more listings and refining tags. I think utilizing and listing titles for search is good. also, I notice that my views are up when I add listings, so adding a listing every day, or every other day should keep you showing up in the top of relevant searches.

My first sale was after being open only about 10 days, but almost 3 months went by before I had my second sale. Don't worry - just keep making improvements to your shop & listing more & more items. Sales will come!

I got mine after a week! SO so so happy... keep working on it, though! Also, I think you should be promoting yourself more on your blog... you have a captive audience right in front of you, go for it! Post pictures about what you're working on, talk about what's going on, make it personal and get people to want to follow you and buy your goodies! You may even want to consider using Blogger for your blog and joining in other blogs- I've done challenges before to get people to visit my blog (such as something Red, scrapbook pages, cards, etc) which are 'isued' from one person's blog and anybody who wants to partake in the challenge posts about it in their bog and links to the site. This way people will visit your blog, and they may even visit (and buy!) from your Etsy. TThat's me, though, I try to promote myself first, then talk about other shops second (sorry guys!)

This shop, it took me about a two months(though, I sold outside of etsy in about a week after focusing on retailing my wares).

My graphic design shop ( I create custom graphic sets and such), I made my first sale within the second day it was open. Either I'm waaaayy better at graphic design than jewelry making, or it's an easier category to sell in. XD I'm going to go with the latter.

Hi Dana, I had to wait 3 and a half weeks for my first EVER sale!! I feel like history is repeating itself this time I haven't had a sale since the beginning of January!

Hopefully we WILL be fine, just keep promoting through various avenues, keep listing and making your pics look pretty, we'll be ok:)
