How is the e-check payment work?? any body have experiences??

Hi Guys..

I have a question should I ship the item while transaction still pending, I am new in ETSY and I am new in e-check.

A buyer paid with e-check, according to my paypal status this transaction is pending until Dec 14th.

Should I ship the items?? the buyer said that the items are for Christmas gift.
So..I am willing to help..but...

She mentioned that she had many positive feedback (115 as buyer) if it counts..

Hardia..
I'm sorry but I'm not famiiar with 'e-check'. I only take Paypal & my customers pay IMMEDIATELY...so I've never dealt with this issue. I hope someone else can jump in and help you!!
Good Luck..

Please let us know how it works for you. I have someone sending a
paper check now who didn't trust paypal. Now I am waiting for it to arrive
snailmail, will deposit, and wait for it to clear. If you find echeck works for
you, would you share the info with those of us who have never used it?
BTW, I would always wait until $ clears before shipping.

I've had an e-check through PayPal. I wouldn't send merchandise until Paypal changes the status from pending to complete. If the check has insufficient funds, Paypal will not pay you. I think my check completed a day or so before the estimate, but it probably differs depending on the bank the check is coming from.
Hope that helps!

I have had several customers use e-check and I've never had a problem with it going through. The first time a customer used it, I was going to wait to ship it, but the customer had such positive ratings and I always work really hard to get my orders out either that day or the next, so I went ahead and shipped before it was complete. Maybe not the wisest business move, but each customer that used e-check was SO grateful and thankfully they all went through just fine.

PayPal recommends that you don't ship the item until the e-check has cleared. I agree with this.

Since the item is a Christmas gift, here's what I would do. I would convo the the buyer and let them know that PayPal is currently processing their e-check. Let them know it's estimated to clear on December 14th. Once it's cleared, I would ship the item immediately. If it's shipping First Class, I would give my customer the option to upgrade to Priority to ensure that it will reach them in time for Christmas. HTH! :)

@ David : I will let you know...

Guys..thanks for all the responds .

I just spoke with paypal customer service due to the payment pending status change from Dec 14th to Dec 28th. There is some problem. So...I will wait until it cleared.
I already sent message to buyer about it, I hope I will have problem solved.

Thanks.
