How do you get feedback?

I am a new seller and I have a few sales. I would like to get good reviews. In my opinion, I sell a quality product. But that's not enough, apparently. What do you do to get feedback? I may not know a secret?) Thanks!

Re: How do you get feedback?

Usually only 1/3 of customers leave feedback .The review system opens after 15 days (more or less ) from the time you marked your items as shipped , and it stays open for 60 days so i am sure you will get feedback .

Re: How do you get feedback?

There is no secret. Statistically, 1 out of 3 customers leave feedback. In my case, it really works that way. The worst thing you can do is to be pushy about feedback - a lot of sellers with little feedback are tempted to send messages to their customers and ask for feedback. Never do it, just wait. And remember, no news means good news.

The best way to get reviews?
Have unique products of outstanding quality and excellent customer service.
That makes many customers want to 'tell the world' about you.

Yeah, there's no "real secret."

Like Bea said, "Have unique products of outstanding quality and excellent customer service."

Unfortunately, not many people do leave reviews. :( And it is against Etsy rules to ask customers to leave reviews.

Re: How do you get feedback?

I'm not so sure about that last sentence, Nikki, since Etsy is even spamming our customers reminding them to post a review.

But no, you don't want to ask for reviews. Most customers will be annoyed by it (so it actually increases your chances of bad reviews).
Remember: no news is good news!

Re: How do you get feedback?

I agree that only about 1/3 of people review. I have had 109 sales, and only 33 reviews. I have never asked anyone to leave feedback, often times they will private message me to tell me how much they like the item, sometimes including a picture of it in use. Love when that happens.

Re: How do you get feedback?

I get that a lot too: feedback through convo or e-mail.
Too bad I cannot have everyone read them, but they still warm my heart.

Re: How do you get feedback?

I believe that if your product and service is good-outstanding-profesional, good feedback will come.
Don´t be pushy about giving feedback, some customers hopefully will love your items and will decide to write back and even put 5 stars on your shop.
When I buy things on Etsy I leave feedback (I really enjoy it!) and until this moment I've made business with nice sellers and great shops.
