Hey guys so this month has been very slow and I'm not here to complain but I would love to talk to everyone on how they deal with slow months! The SEO you can do on Etsy is so interesting haha. So does it push you to make more products/improve on your shop? I would love to hear every ones input :)
My question as well. I think it creates a push to work more on my SEO, photography and descriptions. It's also given me time to mess around with the new shipping options. But it can still be extremely frustrating.
I agree that it pushes me to work on everything in my shop but sometime I feel like you just have to wait it out :/ Also I would imagine getting backlinks to your Etsy shop helps.
Same as Gabi! Last month was very slow for me, so I decided to take this opportunity to make new items, redo my photos, and be active on SNS. Hopefully, sales will take off this month!
I have been working on seo, backlinks . I have added new listings and still I have not had a sale in 6 weeks. I have never had a month without a sale since the year that I opened in 2012. Trying to figure out what is going on.
I've used the time to make some more little card wallets (not my main product line). They use up lots of scraps so it's economical (I hate waste).
Not Etsy related, but i also used the time to have a go at free-motion embroidery on my sewing machine. So much fun and great to have the time to play around :). I've used the tequinique to made some Christmas tree decorations/gift tags, I might sell them or just keep them - I haven't decided yet. lol
I do the same as Bev, mostly concentrating on making new designs as well as pursue a few large creative projects of my own (not for my shop). I also take care of some of the more strategic items on my list of to-dos that I don't necessarily have time to do when there are more orders... such as pursuing wholesale accounts locally :)
I work on new products ideas and refine my existing listings through SEO and photography. I also work on increasing my inventory for the one craft show I do at Christmas.
during slow months i try to remake what has been sold, i try to develop new ideas. i experiment a lot or as i have done this month, participate in a craft fair. that was not super successful but it was my first one so there was a lot to learn for future ones
I have 1,000 ideas for new items swimming around in my head, but because I have a full time job on top of my Etsy shop, I don't have a lot of time to create. During the slow summer months, I use the time to work on those new products.
It's been very slow for me this last few months or so hoping things pick up soon.
I've been adding more products, keywords, pricing, SEO although something I don't full understand SEO at times. I share my products daily but I guess it's too warm for knitted products.
