How do "Favorite" and "Follow" differ, please?

hi, guys!

it's probably a silly question, but I've wondered for a while and could not find an answer in etsy help, so maybe someone can explain to me, whats the difference between "favorite" and "follow"?

do they have different functions?

You add an item to your favourites because you like the item.

You follow other people because you like their favourites and want to see what they mark as favourites in your activity feed.

If you find an item you like you can favourite the item or the shop and it appears under the heart symbol.

When you find someone with similar tastes, you can follow them and all of their favourites will appear in your activity feed. I'm quite new here and I've found it's a great way to discover new items.

Along those lines, do you find that faving and following help with sales? I spend a ton of time doing that. Thoughts?
