How do I get my team out there?

Just looking for a little help really. I created a team a short while ago, Etsian Ballyhoo, that focuses on trying to get Etsians some outside advertisement on blogs of other sellers/buyers. But so far all the people who have joined, I have invited myself. I was wondering if anyone knew the best way to get their Team "out there" and noticed by people? Because I find it rude to be suddenly invited to a team, and that's what I am doing myself. Though, if they decline, I don't hunt them down or anything xD

Advice? I really don't want to keep inviting people. As I said, it's rude!

well, I'm not much of a help really - I'm too new and small here, but I think the more you spread to others, the bigger it will get. And just so you know, I was not offended or found it rude that you invited me, I was flattered! although, of course I assumed (hoped!)there was a reason for why you invited me :)

I joined your team a while ago just by finding it!

Well thank you, both of you ^^ and Hildebrandt, I actually added you because a) you have a blog, and b) your bunting is gorgeous and I like to try to make sure that there is a wide variety of different sellers in the team.

Re: How do I get my team out there?

I started the Sac Etsy Team more than 2.5 years ago. We limit our membership to Etsy sellers living within about an hour of downtown Sacramento, CA. For most of the first year, I spent a LOT of time inviting local sellers. They had to have decent photos, as I wanted the team to be represented well. :-)

At some point, sellers started finding the team on their own and I cut back on the invitations. I haven't gone hunting for new members in more than a year and usually get 5 or 6 requests to join the team each week.

Good luck with your new team!

Inviting is not rude. Go for it. if people don't want to join they won't but I bet a lot of people will join. I like getting asked & i always join : )

I am not part of of your team, nor have I been asked to join; but I would never be offended if one was to ask me into their team. It would be flattering!
What has caused you to think it was rude?
